Ansbach, the government capital of Middle Franconia, offers you a multitude of sights, such as the Historic old town or the castle with the Margravial Court Garden. Ansbach is also known as the Kaspar Hauser City. Here you can discover the mysterious life of the eponymous erratic boulder Kaspar Hauser who lived here from 1830 until his death in 1833. His violent death remains a mystery to this day.
Events such as the Rococo games, the Old Town Festival and the Bach week, the which takes place every two years, attracts many visitors from near and far every year.
From Ansbach you can reach the historic towns of Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Dinkelsbühl, Feuchtwangen with its cloister plays in about 20 minutes, the Open-air museum in Bad Windsheim and Nuremberg (in approx. 40 minutes) and of course the new Franconian Lakeland (Altmühlsee, Brombachsee, Igelbachsee) in approx. 30 minutes.
